Pro Finishes PLUS has partnered with the EPA Design for the Environment (DfE) to recognize shops that have implemented the DfE’s list of “Best Practices”.

The process towards recognition involves a shop audit, designed by the EPA, which focuses on the following five categories:

• Surface Preparation Activities
• Paint Mixing
• Spray Painting
• Spray Gun Cleaning
• Health & Safety Management

The audit is not a regulatory compliance tool, however, some of the “Best Practices” included may be mandated by EPA and OSHA standards.

Shops that demonstrate the required level of commitment to protect workers and minimize the environmental impact on surrounding communities will be awarded an EPA Certificate of Recognition.
